Good news for our German-speaking partners: we now have a native German in the team.
We are happy to welcome Lukas to Light4U.
Over the past twelve years Lukas has worked in various export sales roles, mainly in consumer goods and primarily with distributors. His journey started in plant protection and fertilizers and later moved into arts, crafts and haberdashery products. Quite a different world from lighting, but one that brought him into contact with many ideas, people and challenges along the way.
“With those experiences, I hope I can be a positive part of everyday interactions at Light4U and Karizma Luce – both internally and externally,” Lukas says. “I enjoy asking the occasional silly question, breaking big problems into smaller portions and keeping things simple.”
Speaking the same language
At Light4U, Lukas will mainly support our German-speaking customers and partners. Having a native German speaker on the team makes communication easier and strengthens relationships with partners in German-speaking markets.
Sometimes it simply helps when German understands German.
A new country and a new industry
Joining Light4U is also a big personal step for Lukas. It is his first time living abroad and his first experience in the lighting industry.
“Coming into a completely different field like lighting while just moving abroad for the first time in my life is definitely one of the bigger challenges,” he explains. “But I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn this field in such a well-oiled and established business.”
“The energy here is very positive, open and welcoming – despite me being German,” he adds with a smile.
“In my function as DG – designated German, I hope to bring something a little different to the team.”
Perseverance and curiosity
Courage, perseverance and not giving up are qualities Lukas values strongly in himself and in others.
“Mistakes are part of life. What really matters is what we do with them afterwards and what we learn from them.”
Life outside the office
Privately, Lukas enjoys a relatively quiet life. Spending time in nature is just as important to him as relaxing at home with video games or reading fantasy novels.
Most of his free time, however, is spent with his wife and their cat.
A global mindset
Lukas enjoys travelling and discovering different places and cultures. That international perspective also shapes how he sees business.
“International sales should always be a win-win-win situation. Only if that checks out, I know I’m doing my job well.”
In the end, Lukas believes everything comes down to people.
Listening, understanding and finding practical solutions together is the core of how he approaches his work.
