At Light4U, we believe that strong customer relationships are built on clear communication — and that starts with the right people. Since joining the team some months ago, Yannick has brought a distinct French touch to our sales team. Moving from the automotive industry to lighting, his adaptability and focus have made him an essential partner for our customers in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg. His quick responses and ability to learn quickly also make him the perfect support for partners worldwide.
Curious to know more about Yannick’s journey, his role, and what drives him both at work and beyond? We sat down with him for a short interview to find out.
Where are you from, and how did you end up at Light4U?
I’m from France. I had always wanted to move to the Netherlands, and while looking for a new professional challenge, I discovered Light4U. I initially came for a one-week visit to meet the team and get a feel for how everything works here. The atmosphere was great, the team was welcoming, and the work inspiring, so I decided to stay for good.
What was it like switching from cars to lighting?
The transition has been both exciting and enriching. Coming from the automotive industry, where I worked in a car showroom, I was already comfortable with technical products and interacting with customers daily. Stepping into the lighting sector opened up a whole new world for me. I adapted quickly and now truly enjoy the learning curve it offers. Every day brings something new, making the work both stimulating and rewarding.
What is your role at Light4U?
I’m responsible for supporting and managing our customers in France, Belgium, and Luxembourg, ensuring they receive the right solutions and support throughout their projects. Additionally, I assist other international markets as needed. I really enjoy being a point of contact for our clients and contributing to smooth, efficient collaboration wherever I can make a difference.
People say you and Niels are alike. Why is that?
It makes everyone smile because we really do look alike – both with red hair, a beard, and glasses. And we have a similar easy-going way of working. Some even call us brothers!
What do you enjoy most about your work so far?
What I appreciate most is the variety of projects: each one is different, but we always keep the same goal in mind — customer satisfaction. I also value the team spirit and the trust I feel within the company. The working atmosphere is truly ideal for performing in the best possible conditions. I would also like to meet more customers in person to build strong, direct relationships, which would help us create new business opportunities, expand our network, and showcase our expertise.
What would you like to achieve in your work?
My goal is to become a trusted long-term partner for our customers, someone they can rely on at any moment for expert advice, fast support, or a transparent and honest conversation. I want to be more than just a supplier; I want to be seen as a key contact who understands their needs, anticipates challenges, and helps find innovative, tailored solutions. What drives me every day is the opportunity to build strong, lasting relationships based on trust, efficiency, and shared success.
How would your colleagues describe you?
I believe my colleagues would describe me as someone calm, polite, and always smiling. They also see me as a fast learner who approaches tasks with calmness and efficiency. I’m known for having a strong attention to detail, and I always strive to deliver high-quality work. Even in high-pressure situations, I remain approachable, attentive, and solution-oriented.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
I’m passionate about cars, and I enjoy staying active through various activities, including sports, socialising, and trying new things. I’m not the kind of person who likes to stay home doing nothing; I need to stay busy, explore, and keep moving. On weekends, I truly enjoy spending quality time with my girlfriend, whether it’s at a nice restaurant, relaxing at a spa, attending a festival, or any other activity that allows us to enjoy time together and helps me connect with Dutch culture. And sometimes, a quiet evening at home, chatting about life, watching a series or a good movie, is just as meaningful.
All of my close friends are in France, so we can’t meet as often as we used to, but we enjoy getting together through calls or online games, and those moments of connection still mean a lot to me. I miss my son deeply, but we speak to each other very regularly on the phone, and those conversations are crucial to me. Despite the distance, I do everything I can to remain present in his life, share meaningful moments, and maintain a strong bond, even from afar. He’s a top priority in my life.
Thank you for being part of our team. We wish you all the best! For our customers from France, Belgium, Luxembourg, or other countries, feel free to contact Yannick directly.
