Behind the Invoices and Credit Notes: Esther’s Story

Some months ago, Esther joined our financial department as part of our ambition to strengthen the team and continue developing our internal processes. While she was already experienced in financial administration, joining Light4U and Karizma Luce meant stepping into something completely new.

Interestingly, the opportunity came through her brother, Riemer, who works here as Head of Logistics & Assembly. When Esther heard about the vacancy, she was not actively looking for a new position. She had spent her entire career in financial administration and was comfortable in her previous role. Still, she felt it was time for a change.

“I wanted to learn something new, try something different, and challenge myself.”

And it certainly was a challenge.

When Esther joined, she was not simply continuing an existing way of working. She became part of a period of change within the financial department, helping to implement new processes, a new financial system, and a new way of working. Like every new beginning, it came with questions, challenges, and plenty of things to learn.

What motivates Esther is not simply completing tasks. She likes to understand the reasoning behind them.

“I don’t just want to do something. I want to understand why it is done that way.”

That curiosity helps her every day. As the systems and processes become more familiar, the work becomes smoother and more enjoyable. Today, she feels increasingly at home within the team and appreciates both the work itself and the colleagues around her.

Outside the office, Esther enjoys spending time with friends and family. When it comes to holidays, sunny Spain is her favourite destination. Closer to home, she likes walking and swimming, making the most of weekends and free evenings.

During the winter months, she takes on a completely different role. Together with her brother Riemer, she is active in amateur theatre. Learning scripts and preparing for performances keeps her mind sharp in a completely different way, while also providing plenty of fun along the way.

So, the next time an invoice or credit note arrives in your inbox, you’ll know the smiling face behind it.
