This year marks Light4U’s 20th anniversary and we want to celebrate in a big way! Not just with flags and cake – we also want to give something back. A gift with impact. Therefore, we proudly present: The Brain Boost Challenge, which will take place on Friday, October 18, 2O24.
During this unique event, which we are organising together with our partners hospital Tjongerschans and Sportstad Heerenveen, sport and exercise take centre stage. Seven teams will dedicate 12 hours to raising money for people with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). And yes, you too can contribute. Gladly even!
What is The Brain Boost Challenge?
Imagine seven teams exercising continuously for 12 hours, from 8am to 8pm. Whether you participate in Joure at Light4U or in Sportstad Heerenveen, the energy can be felt everywhere. Each team gets sponsored by friends, family and colleagues. The goal? Turning drops of sweat into hard cash! All the money raised goes to the NAH-Beweegteam(exercise team), so that people with traumatic brain injury can continue to play sports and thus promote their recovery.
Why is this so important?
Traumatic brain injury often comes unexpectedly and has far-reaching consequences. People affected have to rearrange their lives, often with permanent disabilities. Think impaired speech, memory loss or loss of bodily functions. The NAH-Beweegteam is there to help these people stay active, as exercise is a crucial part of their recovery.
How you can boost.
Want to join? Support a team by making a donation – every contribution, big or small, makes a difference. Moreover, we will make it a festive day, with music, participants with their own stories, support from renowned neuropsychologist Erik Scherder and, of course, a fantastic, sporty atmosphere at both locations.
Sharing energy for 20 years.
At Light4U, we love building light and innovation. That’s where we get our energy from, for 20 years. And we love to share that energy, by the way. In recent years, we have climbed Mont Ventoux for charity, swam in the Amsterdam canals and participated in an Estaffete Swim. Now we are committed to the NAH-Beweegteam.
