Together with Create Light and Sjaak Hamstra Interiors, Janse Mode has redefined the art of retail presentation. The project focused on delivering lighting that enhances both the space and the shopping experience. With precise, true-to-colour illumination, the design brings out the textures and tones of each garment. The selected track spotlight played a central role, offering flexible beam angles, multiple light colours, and a full range of accessories. As a result, every section of the store received light tailored to its specific needs.
Challenges
One of the main challenges in this project was managing the varying ceiling heights across different zones. Each area required a unique beam angle and lumen output to achieve visual balance. The chosen Edda M HE spotlight made this possible through precise customisation and smart beam control. Its compact housing and powerful output made it ideal for both wide aisles and focused displays.
In addition, the lighting team ensured consistent colour rendering and visual comfort throughout the space. Whether lighting display windows, fitting rooms, or walkways, the luminaires provided uniform brightness and clarity. The black finish of the Edda M HE matched the metal shelving, creating a subtle contrast and a cohesive visual design.
Delivering Excellent Lighting
The adaptability of the Edda M HE proved essential to the project’s success. It allowed the team to fine-tune intensity, beam direction, and colour temperature for every area. The integrated driver and DALI control offered flexibility during installation and use, especially in zones with lower ceilings.
Moreover, the fixtures complemented the store’s modern aesthetic, adding depth and warmth to the interiors. Through intelligent lighting design, Janse Mode achieved both function and atmosphere, guiding customers naturally through the space. The result is a retail environment that feels inviting, stylish, and coherent.
